Whispar
18 or older, before the first chat
The first start asks you to confirm your age. The terms require 18 or older. The gate is not a identity document check, and it is not optional in the rules.
The link has a code. A badge stays on the visitor's device if they start a chat. We don't store who invited whom.
What the gate does
It stops the session from being created until you confirm. The confirmation is remembered in the browser so you are not asked on every later click. Clearing site data asks again.
What the rules still forbid
Sexual content involving anyone under 18 is banned. Asking for someone’s private contact details, or trying to identify them, is against the guidelines. A filter and a report button exist because a checkbox does not make every stranger polite.
What we do not pretend
A self-confirmation is not a passport scan. People can lie. If a chat goes somewhere it should not, leave and report it. The safety page is the longer version of this.
Questions
Can a 17-year-old use it with a parent’s permission?
No. The rule is 18 or older.
Do you verify age with an ID?
No. You confirm it. The ban on minor sexual content does not depend on that confirmation being honest.
