There is no country queue
You cannot pick “chat with someone in Canada,” and the site will not infer a country from your connection. That is a product limit, not a missing page.
The link has a code. A badge stays on the visitor's device if they start a chat. We don't store who invited whom.
The only country signal
Before you start, a checkbox can share a hint. It is off unless you turn it on. If you turn it on, you may choose a country from a list. The other person can see that you shared it. If you leave the box off, no country is sent.
What we will not publish
Separate landing pages for dozens of countries would suggest that each one has its own line of people. They do not. One global text line is the matcher. A page that pretends otherwise would be spam.
Why the rule exists
A guessed country is often wrong, and it is a strange thing to show a stranger before you have typed a word. The reveal screen says “No hint shared” unless you opted in. A country is never guessed.
Questions
Can I meet only people near me?
No. There is no distance filter and no city filter.
Does my IP reveal my country to the other person?
No. The address is hashed for rate limits. It is not shown as a flag or a place name.
