Skip without a speech
You do not owe a goodbye paragraph. Next ends the thread and looks for someone else. The other person sees that you left.
The link has a code. A badge stays on the visitor's device if they start a chat. We don't store who invited whom.
Three ways to skip
The Next button is in the header. Esc skips from a keyboard. A left swipe skips on a phone. All three do the same thing: this pair ends, and you go back to searching.
What the other person gets
They are not left staring at a frozen composer with no explanation. The chat tells them you left. They can start their own next search. Your messages are not forwarded to the following person.
Skip is not a block
Next does not ban anyone. Block is a separate control in the header menu, for when you do not want that pair again during the session. Report is there for harassment, spam, and the other listed reasons.
Questions
Does skipping hurt an account score?
There is no account score. A short chat is allowed.
Can I skip while I am still searching?
Yes. Esc or a left swipe leaves the search. You can also go back and end it.
