Whispar

Chat with one stranger, not a crowd

The chat is a private thread between two people. There is no room list, no spectator, and no public message board.

Start chatting

The link has a code. A badge stays on the visitor's device if they start a chat. We don't store who invited whom.

How a stranger is chosen

You join a text line. If someone already waiting shares an interest tag with you, that person is preferred. If nobody does, you are paired with the next person waiting. The thread says whether the match shared a tag or was random.

During the conversation

Messages stay in a bubble thread. You can tell when the other person is typing. Reactions sit on a message as a small badge. Nothing you type is posted anywhere else on the site.

Ending it

Next closes the thread, tells the other person you left, and puts you back in line. End leaves without starting another search. Block stops that pair from being matched again in the session.

Questions

Will other people read this chat?

No. It is one pair. Whispar does not publish the messages.

Can I choose who I meet?

Only by optional interest tags. You cannot pick a specific person, and the site does not offer a browseable directory.
